Buddy Fest NW is NW Disability Support's annual celebration promoting the acceptance and inclusion of people experiencing disability (including Down syndrome). It is the largest fundraiser of the year for NWDS. The festival brings together families, friends, self-advocates, educators, professionals, community leaders and other promoters of a civil and inclusive society for a day of community, fun, and advocacy. Everyone seeking to understand, accept, and celebrate disability, diversity, and inclusion is welcome at Buddy Fest NW!

Who is Adara?

Adara is Our Keynote Speaker!

This year, local self-advocate, Adara Morgan, will be our keynote speaker! Adara has grown up in the NWDS community and is now a high school student, glowing with independence and interdepence, and chasing her dreams into young adult hood.

We are so excited to hear what she will share with us. Come help us cheer her on Saturday, September 9th!

Making her Buddy Fest NW emcee debut is...

Wesleigh Ogle! 

Wesleigh Ogle is an Anchor/Reporter for KATU News (ABC) in Portland, Oregon. She has worked in the broadcast industry in Oregon since 2012, starting in Coos Bay and then moving north to Eugene. As the child of a special educator, Wesleigh learned early on that everyone should be accepted and celebrated for what makes them unique. She’s honored to be involved in such a beautiful display of inclusivity, pride, and love.

Pop/Urban Contemporary, Rock and Soul fusion. Dynamic vocals, along w/ the top current dance hits. CJ Mickens Band plays all types of music!

CJ Mickens began his solo pursuit in the Pacific NW at age 15. A NAACP ACTSO Music Program winner three consecutive years, CJ has appeared on American Idol, and had the honor of singing back up for Gladys Knight, Dionne Warwick, and Lionel Richie.  Read his entire bio and his website link below!
